The Massacre He loomed over them menacingly. They knew this would be their last day. They tried to stand their ground, but he was too overpowering. He tore into their midst, not stopping, seemingly immune to their pain. He ripped them out of their homes, leaving them to die slowly in a pile in the dirt. The scorching sun beat down on the victims of the man, making them wish someone would end their misery, their prolonged suffering. GotchaI looked deep into his light blue eyes. “Are you ready?” he asked. As I took a deep breath, I glanced around. We were in a small clearing near his house, our little stop with a clear stream running through it, surrounded by large trees. I shifted my gaze to the small mound of discarded clothes at the base of a tree.
